Ural Troyka

Comments:

When I bought the sidecar for the R100RT sidecar rig, it came with the Ural bike. The Troyka was billed as able to be ridden solo or with a sidecar mostly due to its telescopic fork. I didn't want a Ural tug (bike) because I wanted the power of an Airhead but I had to buy it as a package. Doug decided he'd take the Ural bike off my hands. My role was second pair of hands and researcher.

The bike only had 3300 miles but it was seriously neglected. You can do motorcycle mechanics if you are willing to read the forums/manuals, are patient, and are detail oriented. If that's not you, don't do it. There's no place for "good enough" and "that should work".

Doug regularly referred to this as a 1940s adventure bike. Pretty accurate. We often found ourselves struggling only to realize it needed less finesse and more force and oil loss was to be expected.
