Description:

The apocalypse is an asshole; you're going to need to find some family.

Non-binary, child of the woods, Pan loses their pants when a bear invades their fire tower camp. Clad in found, fur pants, Pan travels through the woods making friends with crows, chasing deer, and cooking backwoods pancakes as they travel to Virginia searching for surviving friends.

Bound and hungover, Galen wakes being literally drug to a trial for violating the High School Distillery's morality laws. Galen keeps going because he's trained to prolong life and to distance himself from the deadly betrayal that flushed him from his bunker.

When Pan crosses paths with Galen and his dog Vult, loneliness gets the better of them and they follow the sidecar crew watching from the trees until an ambush on the road forces them to reveal themselves.

Traveling through a landscape where 330 million died from climate-enhanced storms and distrust of each other, Pan and Galen band together creating a found family, because survival is impossible without trust and painful without love.

Pan Dances combines the starkness of Cormac McCarthy's The Road and the hope of Emily St. John Mandel's Station Eleven. Pan Dances weaves the Roman god legends of Apollo (Galen) and Pan (Pan) and a Taoist moral into a story featuring a non-binary title character, a bisexual main character, and timely social commentary.
